많은 튜브리스 타이어들이 시장에 출시되어 있지만 대부분의 경우 튜브 타이어보다 더 무겁고 뻣뻣하고 느리다. 어느 곳도 빠르고 가볍고 편안한 튜브리스 타이어를 제공하지 않고 있다. 월드투어팀도 같은 생각을 하고 있는 듯하다. 예를 들러 Soudal-Quickstep경우 튜브 클린처 타이어를 계속 사용하고 있다. 그들의 타이어 스폰서에서는 튜브리스 타이어를 사용하기를 원하지만 말이다.) 그래서 르네허스가 그런 튜브리스 로드 타이어를 출시하기로 하였다. 이것이 가능하게 하기위해서 완전히 새롭게 타이어를 디자인해야했다. 르네허스의 매우 부드러운 타이어들에 사용되는 얇은 casing들은 높은 공기압을 사용시 실란트가 투과되어 나올 수도 있기에 보완을 했고 림에 확실하게 안착되기 위해 특별한 bead를 적용하였다. 그러면서도 르네허스 타이어의 특징인 빠른 속도, 경량화, 탁월한 편안한 승차감을 포기하지 않으면서 방법을 찾기 위해 노력했다. 새로운 르네허스 튜브리스 타이어가 실제 로드주행시 다른 르네허스 타이어과 동일한 성능을 발휘할 때 출시하기로 작정하고 개발에 임하였다. 

최대 허용 공기압이 90 psi (6.2 bar)로 체중이 무거운 라이더나 보다 단단한 느낌을 원하시는 분들에게 적합한 튜브리스 레디 로드 타이어로 첨단 내부 라이너는 타이어가 지나치게 단단하거나 느리지 않게 하면서 부드러운 타이어 케이싱이 공기를 타이트하게 유지할 수 있도록 해준다.  

웅장한 클럼비아 강의 측면 계곡길의 이름을 따서 작명한 타이어로 Orondo Grade는 7마일의 10% 경사도를 지닌 도로이다. Orondo Grade는 중간 포인트이며 때때로 S2S ‘Seattle-to-Spokane'라고 하는 신화에 가까운 지금은 없어진 285마일의 cross-state race의 오르막이기도 하다.  

르네허스 올로드 타이어의 부드러운 casing으로 불규칙한 노면을 부드럽게 구른다. 트레드 패턴 (tread pattern)이 노면과 결착되어 마른 노면이든 젖은 노면이든 탁월한 코너링 그립을 보여준다. 트레드 중앙 부분은 충분한 두께를 적용하여 수천 마일을 사용할 수 있으면서도 노면 접촉이 없는 타이어 측면은 얇고 부드럽다.  

Standard casing 모델은 보다 가성비가 좋은 옵션으로 편안하고 빠르면서도 상당한 충격도 견딜 수 있도록 강하게 디자인된 모델이다. Extralight casing 모델경우 성능, 편안함 그리고 다른 차원의 라이딩 감각을 제공한다. Endurance casing 모델은 추가적인 사이드월과 펑크 방지를 위한 보강이 된 모델로 동시에 스피드와 편안함도 유지하는 모델이다. Orondo Grade 타이어는 tubeless-compatible이며 튜브리스 셋업의 경우 SealSmart sealant 추천한다.

There are many tubeless road tires out there, but they are usually heavier, stiffer and slower than their tubed counterparts. None offer the speed, light weight and comfort that we want in our tires. (Some big pro teams seem to think the same. For example, Soudal-Quickstep continues to use tubed clinchers, even though their tire sponsor would love to see them run tubeless.) So we set out to make a tubeless road tire that performs and feels like a real Rene Herse tire. To make this possible, we had to completely redesign our tires. High pressures can force sealant through the thin casings that we use on our ultra-supple tires. They also require a special bead to keep the tire securely on the rim. We’ve worked hard to find a solution without giving up the effortless speed, light weight and superior comfort that our Rene Herse tires are famous for. We were determined to release our tubeless road tires only once they were indistinguishable from our other tires—on the road, where it matters.

It’s rated to a max. pressure of 90 psi (6.2 bar)—enough for heavy riders and those who prefer a stiffer feel to their bikes. A high-tech liner keeps our supple casings airtight without making the tire stiff and sluggish.

We name our tires after the roads that inspire them: Orondo Grade is a 7-mile 10% climb up a side canyon of the mighty Columbia River. The Orondo Grade was the half-way point—and often decisive climb—of the near-mythical, now-defunct 285-mile cross-state race, S2S ‘Seattle-to-Spokane.’ 

The supple casing of Rene Herse all-road tires rolls smoothly over surface irregularities. The tread pattern interlocks with the road surface for superior cornering grip, wet or dry. The tread has enough thickness in the center to last thousands of miles, but it’s thin and supple on the shoulders where it doesn’t wear.

The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse. The Extralight casing takes the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. The Endurance casing is reinforced for extra sidewall protection and puncture resistance, while retaining the speed and comfort for which Rene Herse tires are famous. The Orondo Grade is tubeless-compatible. For tubeless setup, we recommend SealSmart sealant.
