Postcarry의 Transfer Case는 창업자이자 산업 디자이너인 Marc 자신이 자전거 여행을 다니면서 기존의 자전거 수납가방이 너무 크고 무거워 불편했던 점을 개선하기 위해 직접 디자인한 매우 컴팩트한 자전거 여행 가방으로 풀사이즈 로드 또는 그래블 바이크용이다. 대부분의 경우 항공기 추가 요금없이 일반 수화물처럼 무료로 실을 수 있을 만큼 작으면서도 완변하게 자전거를 보호해준다.

"이 가방으로 약 9회 이상의 비행기 여행을 했는데 어떠한 문제가 생기지 않았다. 자전거에 어떠한 데미지도 일어나지 않았다. 첫번째 여행인 미시건에서 캘리포니아 비행기 여행에서도 그랬고 일본과 싱가폴 그리고 말레이시아 비행기 여행에서도 어떠한 문제도 없었다. 이렇게 여러 곳을 이 가방으로 가지고 자전거 여행한 후 이 가방은 매우 훌륭한 투자라는 점을 느끼게 된다. 나의 자전거는 52사이즈 Trek Domane AL 3 Disc인데 프레임 백, 신발, 헬멧, 저지, 툴들을 넣을 수 있는 충분한 공간을 제공했다. 나는 201년형 혼다 시빅 2도어를 운전하는데 트렁크에 정확하게 맞는다. 약간 부피감은 있지만 가지고 다니는데 전혀 어려움은 없었다. 택시나 유버를 이용할 경우 작은 자동차에도 수납이 가능했다. 다만 일본의 기차역에서 이동할 때 엘리베이터를 이용할 때 조금 번거로웠다. 비행기에 수화물 신고할 경우 Air Asia와 Scoot을 제외하고 어떠한 문제도 없었다. 초과 사이즈 수화물에 가방을 둬야할 경우에도 초과 수화물 비용을 낸 적이 없다. 위 2개의 항공사경우에는 체크인 가방과 별개로 무게에 따라 먼저 비용을 지불하도록 요구하는데 나의 자전거 가방의 무게가 무게 기준을 초과한 적은 한번도 없었다." March 17, 2023 Very excellent Case (Updated Review)

• Compact & Protected - 견고한 폴리카보네이트 플라스틱 패널들과 두꺼운 패딩으로 전체적으로 둘러져있으며 프레임, 체인스테이 보호를 위한 패딩처리된 보호대로 추가적인 자전거 보호를 제공한다. 이러한 추가적인 보호대가 기본 제공되기에 스크랫치 걱정이 없고 별도로 보호대를 준비할 필요없이 그냥 자전거를 팩킹하고 떠나면 된다.
• Save on travel fees - Transfer Case의 전체 부피가 일반적인 수화물 기준보다 조금 크기는 하지만 많은 비행기 수납 카운트에서 보다 큰 자전거 가방경우 추가 비용이 발생하지만 이 가방은 추가 비용없이 받아준다. 모든 항공사에서 추가 수화물 비용을 내지 않는다는 것을 보장할 수는 없지만 실제 많은 실사례에서 추가 비용을 내지 않거나 보다 적은 비용만 지불하였다. 로드 또는 그래블 바이크를 패킹하면 대부분의 경우 전체 가방 무게는 15kg을 초과하지 않게 되는데 이것은 저가 항공사의 초과 수화물 부가 기준이다. 또한 대부분의 미국과 국제 항공사의 경우 가로 세로 높이의 합인 linear dimension limit을 158cm (62”)로 설정하고 있으며 Transfer Case의 경우 살짝 그 기준을 초과한다. 공항의 수화물 카운터에 직접 초과 비용이 발생하는지 문의를 하면되며 많은 경우 비용 부가가 되지 않았다. 
• Gets anywhere - 최대한 컴팩트하게 디자인된 가방이기에 좁은 복도에서도 가방 모서리에 부착된 휠이 있어 손쉽게 굴려서 지나갈 수 있으며 또한 백팩처럼 어깨에 맬 수 있는 어깨끈을 기본 부착되어 있다. 6kg이 넘지 않는 가방 자체의 무게이기에 가장 가볍고 컴팩트하면서 자전거를 충분히 보호해주는 가방이다. 
• Fits any vehicle - Transfer Case는 작은 자동차의 트렁크에도 잘 들어가기에 큰 자동차를 찾거나 택시 드라이버와 사이즈때문에 실갱이를 할 필요가 없다. 
• Folds for storage and mobility - Transfer Case는 빈 상태에서는 큰 백팩처럼 접을 수 있기에 여행을 하지 않는 경우 집에 보관하기에도 적합하다. 공항에서 자전거를 조립해야하는 경우에도 조립하고나서 다른 물품들은 Transfer Case에 넣고 접은 후 백팩처럼 등에 지고 자전거를 타고 목적지로 바로 갈 수 있다.
• Fully compartmentalized -자전거의 모든 부품들을 위한 구분된 공간이나 스트랩이 기본 제공되기에 안전하게 보호된 상태로 손쉽게 정리할 수 있다. 리어 드레일러를 위한 파우치에서부터 페달, 브레이크 로터, 심지어 툴들을 위한 주머니까지 있다. Transfer Case는 패킹과 여행의 모든 면을 감안하여 디자인된 자전거 여행 가방이다. 

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR TRANSFER CASE SIZE

(1) 헤드 튜브 길이를 측정하라. (쉽게 분리할 수 없는 헤드셋 컵이나 부착물 포함한 길이이다.)

(2) 헤드 튜브 중앙에서 부터 드레일러 행어까지의 대각선 길이를 측정하다. 

(3) 아래 차트를 참조하여 Transfer Case 사이즈를 결정하다.

주이 사항: 헤드튜브 또는 대각선 길이가 아래 리스트의 치수보다 큰 경우에는 사용이 불가한 경우이다. 

COMPATIBILITY NOTES

• Cable Routing - 케이블과 하우징이 포크가 분리되는 것을 불가능하게 하지않는 경우를 제외하면 Transfer Case에 사용 가능하다. 완전통합형 케이블 또는 하우징을 가진 자전거의 경우 Transfer Case에 맞지 않는다.
• Integrated Seatposts - Transfer Case는 시트포스트처럼 사용되는 확장된 시트튜브를 가진 프레임을 위해 디자인되지는 않았지만 그 시트튜브가 짧은 경우에는 Transfer Case에 맞을 수도 있다. 이러한 경우 프레임 사이즈 정보와 시트튜브 길이를 알려주시면 사용가능여부에 대해 확인을 해드립니다.

TRAVLEING WITH DISC BRAKES AND NICE TO HAVE ITEMS

• Centerlock lockring removal tool (for disc brake rotors) - 자전거 여행시 가급적 디스크 로터 분리를 추천한다. 외부 스프라인(external spline)이 있는 Centerlock lockring의 경우 Shimano external spline bottom bracket tool이 필요하다. 
• Brake pad spacer (for disc brake bikes) - 브레이크 레버가 눌리는 경우 브레이크 패드가 붙는 경우를 방지하기 위해 브레이크 패드 스페이스를 키워서 패킹할 필요가 있다. 
• Chain master link - 보다 깔끔한 피킹을 원하는 경우 체인을 제거하는 것을 원하는 분들도 있다. 이러한 경우 KMC missing link와 같은 마스터 링크가 빠르게 체인을 분리하고 제거할 수 있게 해준다. 
• Schrader > Presta valve adapter - 필리핀의 지방을 여행할 때 펌프도 없었고 자전거 가게도 없었고 단지 presta 방식의 floor pump만이 있었다. 항상 밸브 어댑터를 안장가방에 가지고 다녔기에 그곳 주유소에 가서 밸브 어댑터를 사용해서 공기를 주입할 수 있었다. 
• A backup derailleur hanger - 여행시 드레일러 행거가 휘거나 파손되는 경우가 발생할 수 있기에 여분을 가지고 다니는 것을 추천한다.
• Di2 wire removal tool - Di2 커넥터의 손상없이 와이어를 분리하게 도와주는 도구이다. 
• Extra headset shims & spacers - 쉽게 분실할 수 있는 부품이기에 추가 여분을 챙기는 것이 좋다.
• Grease & carbon paste

March 17, 2023 Very excellent Case (Updated Review)

"Summary: This bag has traveled with me on multiple flights (Aprox. 9+). I have had no issues with the case. My bike has sustained no damage on any flight. For its maiden voyage, I traveled from Michigan to California (No issues). I recently went to Asia with the case (Japan, Singapore, & Malaysia). After using the case and riding the bike in each of the locations, it is safe to say this case is an excellent investment!! For reference, I ride a 52cm Trek Domane AL 3 Disc. In the case it had plenty of room to carry my shoes, helmet, frame bags, jerseys, and tools. Size: I drive a 2010 Honda Civic (2 door) and this fit perfectly in the trunk of the vehicle. The case is bulky, but I had no serious issues taking it around. It fit in small vehicles when I took a taxi, Grab, or Uber. The only annoyance was traversing the Japan rail stations. Elevators are your friend, not escalators. Airlines: The only issue here during my travels, with Air Asia, and Scoot, I was made to drop off the bag at oversized luggage areas, but was never provided an excess luggage fee. These airlines make you pay ahead of time for kilogram regardless of check-in bag. I was never overweight for any airline (Close though)."

Compact & Protected - The Transfer Case has rigid polycarbonate plastic panels and thick foam padding throughout. Padded wraps for your frame and chainstay add yet another layer of protection. These wraps keep your bike scratch-free and eliminate the need for additional foam tubes for protection. Just pack it and go!

Save on travel fees - The overall dimensions of the Transfer Case are just slightly larger than a regular piece of luggage. Some airline counter agents will let it through without the fees that bigger bike cases normally get charged with. While we do not guarantee the Transfer Case will avoid all airline fees, it has a great track record of avoiding or reducing any. After packing a road bike or gravel bike, the total weight should be under 15kg in almost all cases, which is the additional freight charging point.

Gets anywhere - By being as compact as possible, rolling the Transfer Case through narrow passageways is a breeze thanks to its external wheels. HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR TRANSFER CASE SIZE

(1) Measure the frame's headtube length (including headset cups or attachments that cannot be easily taken off.)

(2) Measure the diagonal length between the forward-most point (at the center of the headtube) to the furthest point of the frame (usually the derailleur hanger on geared bikes).

(3) Use the chart below to determine your frame’s Transfer Case size.

Note: Frames with a headtube or diagonal length measurement greater than what’s listed won’t fit.

COMPATIBILITY NOTES

Cable Routing - In regards to cable routing, as long as the bike's cables and housing do not prevent the fork from being removed, it will fit inside the Transfer Case. Frames with fully integrated cables or housing are not compatible inside the Transfer Case.

Integrated Seatposts - The Transfer Case was not intended for frames that feature an extended seat tube which acts as a seatpost. However, some frames with this type of seat tube are short enough and will fit in the Transfer Case. Please email us with your frame information and seat tube length measurements and we can see if your ISP frame will fit!

TOOLS TO BRING FOR TRAVELING WITH YOUR BIKE

• Hex/Allen/Torx tools - Although you can get away with using a fold-out multi tool, I prefer to have a set of L-shaped hex keys instead. A trial run of packing and building your bike will help you determine exactly what size tools to bring.
• Pedal wrench - Depending on your pedals, you may need an 8mm hex wrench (which can often be part of the hex key set mentioned above) or a 15mm open-end wrench. Please check your pedals to determine which tool you need.
• Torque key - lightweight, easy to use and relatively inexpensive--torque keys are great for ensuring bolts aren't overtightened. Torque keys such as Ritchey's rated to 5nm are generally within the torque range of most stems and seatpost clamps. Please check your bike to determine which torque key is best for you.
• Rear axle spacer/dummy hub - These are typically included with a bike in the packaging but many bike shops could have some laying around to give away. It can be anything placed in between the rear dropouts, such as a PVC pipe cut to the right length, to prevent the rear triangle of your frame from being squeezed. The fork does not need this spacer.

TRAVLEING WITH DISC BRAKES AND NICE TO HAVE ITEMS

• Centerlock lockring removal tool (for disc brake rotors) - Should you remove your brake rotors for travel? I recommend it, especially if your rotors are Centerlock which take just seconds to remove. For Centerlock lockrings with an "external" spline, a Shimano external spline bottom bracket tool is usually the tool you need. Please check with your hub manufacturer to see which lockring format you have and which tool is required.
• Brake pad spacer (for disc brake bikes) - Simply to prevent the pads from being pressed in if the brake levers are squeezed accidentally. You can also use a piece of cardboard or any clean, non-metal object to place in between the pads. Don't worry, if you don't have the spacers and the pads get squeezed in, they can be spread back to normal using a plastic tire lever.
• Chain master link - Although it's fine to skip removing your chain, some cyclists may prefer to remove it to make packing neater. Having a master link, such as KMC's Missing Link, allows the chain to quickly disconnected and removed. Carry a few extra master links with you, just in case!
• Schrader > Presta valve adapter - On a trip to the rural provinces of the Philippines, I forgot my pump and a bike shop was nowhere to be found, let alone a presta-compatible floor pump. Since I keep a valve adapter in my saddle bag at all times, I walked to a local gas station and asked the attendant to fill up my tires using the valve adapter. There was no way for me to gauge the tire pressure, but I had it inflated just enough and later filled it appropriately at a bike shop.
• A backup derailleur hanger - With proper packing inside the Transfer Case, your frame will be well-protected from forces and impacts that might occur during travel. However, there are so many other ways a hanger might break off and it's good to keep a backup.
• Di2 wire removal tool - For Di2-equipped bikes with its battery mounted inside a seatpost, you'll likely have to disconnect the wire. The removal tool helps remove the wire without damaging the connector.
• Extra headset shims & spacers - since these can be easy to lose, it never hurts to carry extra.
• Grease & carbon paste - Bringing these can sometimes be optional, but many see packing their bike as an opportunity to service the bike so it doesn't hurt to bring. See the note below about re-applying grease to your bike.
