THE PURPOSE

현대 로드 레이싱에서 Queen stages와 같은 코스의 필요를 위해 개발된 Hunt 4AM Limitless 휠셋은 빠른 평지 코스에서부터 높은 산악 로드 코스까지 스피드와 평정심을 유지할 수 있는 휠셋이다. 무게, 에어로 성능 그리고 안정성의 균형을 최적화함으로써 HUNT 개발팀은 미들림 로드 휠셋의 표준을 세웠다고 할 수 있다.  

Hunt 4AM Limitless 휠셋은 산악오르막 코스에서 보다 빠른 가속이 가능하고 가파른 내리막 코스에서 자신감있는 공략을 다룰 수 있도록 HUNT's 5-Stage Aero Development 과정을 그대로 거치며 개발된 휠셋으로 특허등록된Limitless Width Aero Technology와 Ti_UD Carbon Spokes 그리고 CeramicSpeed bearings 옵션을 동일하게 제공합니다. 10년간의 휠 개발, 소재 개발 그리고 공기역학과 실전 테스트를 기반으로 Hunt 4AM Limitless Wheelset은 최고의 성능을 위한 하나의 완전한 시스템으로 접근하면서 개발되었으며 각 부품들은 HUNT 5-Stage Aero Development process을 통해서 연구되고 검증되어 실험실의 데이타를 넘어서 에어로센서(aerosensor)와 협업을 통해서 실제 레이싱 상황에서 공기역학 성능을 측정하여 반영한 초경량 최고속 휠셋으로 구현하였다. 따라서 본 휠셋은 평지와 꾸준히 오르는 오르막 코스를 훨씬 효율적으로 공략할 수 있도록 하였다.

TECHNOLOGY

헌트 인하우스 개발팀에 의해 새롭게 개발된 Hunt 4AM Limitless Ti_UD Carbon Spoke Wheelset은 Hunt 5AM 휠셋과 스테이블 메이트로 라이더를 최우선하는 동일한 철학과 공기역학 DNA를 공유하지만 보다 폭넓은 일상라이딩에서 Limitless performance를 원하는 라이더를 위해 개발된 휠셋이다. Hunt 5AM 휠셋과 같이 수 년간의 공기역학 연구와 동일한 5-Stage Aero Development process를 거쳐 개발된 Hunt 4AM 휠셋 또한 라이더가 자전거를 탑승한 실제 도로 라이딩 상황에서 성능을 발휘하도록 개발되었다. 이러한 검증된 다층개발과정과 특허등록된 Limitless Width Aero Technology를 바탕으로 공기역학과 무게의 최적 균형을 확보하여 50mm 미만의 휠셋에서 가장 빠른 휠셋으로 탄생하였다. 

전륜의 경우 공기를 가장 먼저 접하기에 드래그(drag)를 줄일 수 있는 가장 큰 기회가 있는 곳으로 림의 높이와 폭을 증가시키면서 동시에 스포크 수를 줄이고 히든 니플을 적용하고 허브 두께를 줄임으로써 회전 드래그 (rotational drag)를 최소화하여 드래그를 최대한 줄이고자 하였다. 이를 통해서 가장 중요한 전륜에서 측풍 안전성의 회손없이 공기역학 효율성을 최대화하였다. 후륜의 경우 전륜과 프레임과 라이더를 통과하며 혼란스러운 공기흐름(turbulent airflow)을 만나게 되기에 후륜의 공기역학적 이득이 전체적인 시스템 차원에서 보면 덜 중요하게 됩니다. 이러한 전체적인 판단하에 후륜의 공기역학 효율 향상은 무게를 줄이고 파워 전달력을 최대화함으로써 얻을 수 있기에 후륜의 림은 더 낮고 좁은 림을 적용하고 추가적인 스포크를 체결함으로써 반응성을 향상시키고 와트당 파워 전달력을 향상시켰습니다.

THE PURPOSE

The 4AM Limitless accelerates faster while delivering speed across steep mountain climbs and handles blistering descents with confidence at race pace. Delivered through HUNT's 5-Stage Aero Development, with patented Limitless Width Aero Technology, Ti_UD Carbon Spokes, and unreleased CeramicSpeed bearings. 

Engineered for the demands of Queen stages found in modern road racing, the 4AM Limitless maintains speed and composure from fast flats to high alpine mountain roads. By optimising the balance between weight, aero drag, and stability, the HUNT in-house engineering team has set the standard for mid-depth road wheels. 

Drawing on 10 years of wheel development, materials innovation and an evolving process of aerodynamic and real-world testing, the 4AM Limitless was created using a complete system approach to performance. Each component of the wheel system was engineered, vetted and validated through HUNT’s 5-Stage Aero Development process, to make riders faster in actual racing conditions, not just on paper. 

TECHNOLOGY

Designed by HUNT’s in-house engineering team, the 4AM Limitless is the stablemate to our flagship 5AM – it shares the same rider-first philosophy and aerodynamic DNA, but tuned for those who want Limitless performance in a more versatile, everyday package. Built on years of aerodynamic learning and the same 5-Stage Aero Development process that shaped the 5AM, the 4AM is engineered to perform in the real world, with a rider on the bike. Through this proven, layered development process and patented Limitless Width Aero Technology, performance is maximised to achieve the optimal balance between aerodynamics and weight, delivering the fastest wheel system available under 50mm. 

The front wheel runs in clean air, offering the greatest opportunity to reduce drag. By increasing rim depth and width, while minimising rotational drag through reduced spoke count, hidden spoke nipples and low profile hub design, we maximise aerodynamic efficiency where it matters most without compromising crosswind stability. 

The rear wheel encounters turbulent airflow, downstream of the front wheel, frame, and rider movement, making rear wheel aerodynamic gains less important in the context of the complete system. Rear wheel efficiency is achieved by reducing weight and maximising power transfer. A shallower, narrower rim paired with additional spokes delivers enhanced responsiveness and efficient transmission of every watt to the road.

• ADVANCED CARBON STRUCTURE: 4AM Limitless rims are made using a blend of T700, T800, and T1000 UD carbon fibres, with high-modulus Mitsubishi PyrofilHR4012M - a material more common in aerospace, aviation and motorsport applications. • You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower.

MAX RIDER WEIGHT: All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 120 kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 100 kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
