APPLIED TECHNOLOGY

• DEDACCIAI TUBING: 데다치아이 7000 시리즈 알루미늄 합금 커스텀 형상의 트리플 버티드 튜빙을 직접 손으로 선택하여 tig 용접을 통해 아름답고 부드러운 용접 비드들을 이태리 수제 자전거 장인의 손으로 만들어 주요 용접부위에 얇아지거나 약해지는 곳이 없다. 본 프레임은 완벽한 열처리 과정과 스트레스 완화 과정을 용접후 거친다. 
• DFORM DOWNTUBE: 수상 이력을 가진 Resolution frame을 따라서 메이슨 프레임의 시그니처 형상인 'DForm' downtube가 적용되었다. Ø48mm 지름의 트리플 버티드 Dedacciai tubing이 사용되었다. 이러한 진화된 다운튜브는 Bokeh가 예측가능하고 매력적인 라이딩을 위한 높은 수준의 강직성(stiffness)를 가지는데 기여한다. 
• RANGEFINDER•AS FORK: 완전히 새롭게 개발된 ‘RangeFinder•AS’ fork는 메이슨의 Exposure와 Bokeh 3 모델들을 위해 튜닝된 것으로 pannier와 ‘rando’ style rack mounts, 3개의 ‘anything-cage’ style accessory mounts, Ø12mm Thru-axle, 160/180mm flat-mount, 그리고 거대한 타이어 클리어런스 (27.5 x 2.35” | 700C x 50mm (with a 62mm fender)를 자랑한다. 본 카본 포크의 카본 적층은 Bokeh 프레임에 최적화된 것이며 추가적으로 밀봉된 내부 brake와 dynamo light cable routing 그리고 독특한 Mason 'F-Stop' axle system (Mason developed SwitchLever axle and replaceable fork inserts)을 가지고 있다.
• HOURGLASS STAYS: 모리시계 형상의 스테이를 개발하기까지 다른 많은 형상들을 실험해보았다. 튜빙 두께는 위에서 아래로 얇아지면서 완벽한 모래시계 형상 (‘hourglass’ profile)을 가진 스테이가  훌륭한 부드러운 라이딩 감각을 제공하고 보다 생동감있는 탄성을 제공한다. 디스크 로터와 캘리퍼 장착을 위해서 하단부에는 맞춤형 굴곡을 추가하였다. 
• TAPER HEAD TUBE: 현대적인 1-1/8” - 1.5” 테이퍼 헤드 튜브는 대구경 지름으로 충분한 용접부위를 제공한다. 이 완전 통합형 헤드셋 (fully integrated headset)은 가볍고 매우 낮은 스택 높이(stack-height)를 가진다. 대구경 1.5” 하단 베어링은 테이퍼드 형상의 카본 포크 스티어러와 맷칭되어 압력을 분산시키고 흔들림없는 브레이킹과 즉각적인 조향반응을 보여준다. 
• 6 X ACCESSORY MOUNTS: Bokeh는 장거리 바이크 패킹과 그래블 레이싱을 위해서 디자인된 프레임으로 프레임과 포크에는 많은 물통과 악세사리를 거칠할 수 있는 마운트를 가진다. RangeFinder•AS fork에는 전통적인 패니어 랙 마운트뿐만 아니라 2개의 bottle/accessory mounts가 있다. 표준적인 프레임 마운트 구멍은 아래와 같이 준비되어 있다: down tube 상단에 2개, down tube 하단에 2개, seat tube에 2개, top tube pack장착을 위한 top tube에 2개. 모든 구멍의 위치는 최적화되어 있어 프레임안에 가방 공간을 최대화할 수 있게 하였다. 4번째 accessory/tool-keg/fluid mount는 down-tub 하단면에 최대한 낮은 곳에 만들어 타이어 클리어런스를 더 확보할 뿐 아니라 더 큰 물통이나 가방을 위한 공간을 확보하고자 하였다. 
• OPTIMISED SEAT TUBE SIZE: 48cm에서 58cm 사이즈 프레임의 경우 31.8mm seat tube와 27.2mm seatpost를 적용하여 작고 가벼운 라이더들에게 크고 뻣뻣한 seatpost 대신 노면 진동을 상쇄하고 편안한 장거리 라이딩을 제공하고자 하였다. 60cm와 62cm 대형 사이즈 프레임의 경우 34.9mm seat tubes와 31.6mm seatpost를 적용하여 큰 프레임의 중심 안정성 (core-stability)을 제공하고 더 큰 31.6mm seatpost의 추가적인 지지력으로 크고 강한 힘을 가진 라이더들에게 동력 전달성(power transfer)을 향상시켰다. 
• 1X DRIVETRAIN: '1X'는 좁은 폭의 체인링과 쟈키 휠(jockey wheel) 그리고 클러치 기능이 장착된 리어 메커니즘('clutched' rear-mech)으로 체인 안정성을 최대화한다. 기어 범위는 compact 2X drivetrain과 유사하지만 2단 변속장치가 없어 보다 가볍고 조용하고 확실하다. 
• BOATTAIL STAYS: 체인스테이에 적용된 MASON만의 독특한 custom bend는 디스크 로터와 캘리퍼를 장착할 공간을 제공하면서 거친 노면에서의 체인 떨림 (chain-slap)을 방지하여 부드러운 라이딩이 가능하게 해준다. 
• MULTIPORT: MASON만의 독특한 적응가능한 internal cable routing system은 control systems의 조합이 가능하게 해주며 당신의 요구사항이나 라이딩 스타일에 적응하고 진화할 수 있도록 해준다. Resolution performance steel frame에 본 기능을 처음 적용하여 확대하였고 교체가능한 alloy parts는 5가지 옵션을 구성하도록 해준다: 1. Full cable outer. 2. Hydraulic Hose. 3. Split outer. 4. Electronic cable [e.g. Shimano Di2]. 5. Blank.
• INTERNAL ROUTING: 케이블, 브레이크 호스, electronic shift control wire는 Mason 'MultiPort' adaptable inserts의 가이드를 받아 프레임 안으로 지나갑니다. 교체가능한 Internal routing은 케이블 등이 더러워지는 것을 방지하고 사고로 인한 손상을 막아주며 세척을 용이하게 해주며 정리된 깔끔한 자전거로 만들어줍니다. 다양한 변속과 브레이킹 세팅을 손쉽게 할 수 있도록 해줍니다. 
• THRUBB: 메이슨만의 독특한 'ThruBB'는 50mmØ 대구경으로 down-tube 하단과 용접이 가능한 큰 영역을 제공하며 68mm 폭의 threaded seat으로 연결됩니다. BB 베어링 주변에 많은 공간을 가질 수 있어 케이블과 브레이크 호스가 BB내 하부를 지나 chain stay와 브레이크와 뒷변속기쪽으로 갈 수 있게 해줍니다. 주의 사항: 이 BB shell design은 대부분의 시마노 또는 SRAM DUB처럼 24mm 또는 30mm 'sleeved' axle을 가진 BB을 사용하는 것을 요구합니다. 왜냐하면 케이블과 호스가 shell을 지나 axle 하단으로 지나기 때문입니다. Sleeve가 없는 BB는 사용하면 안 됩니다!
• 650B / 700C WHEELS: Bokeh는 광폭 그래블 타이어에 최적화되어 있고 650B와 700C 휠셋을 모두 사용가능합니다. 더 작은 650B을 사용하면 보다 넓은 광폭 타이어를 사용할 수 있으면서도 700C x 28mm wheel/tyre와 동일한 구름 지름을 가지게 됩니다.
• 160/180 FLAT-MOUNT: 메이슨의 HotShoe [InSearchOf]와 RangeFinder [SLR, Exposure, Bokeh3] fork는 160mm와 180mm 로터를 장착할 수 있는 Flat-Mount 능력을 가진 최초의 카본 포크입니다. 부하가 심하거나 깊고 기친 노면에서의 라이딩에서 조작가능하고 신뢰할 수 있는 브레이킹 파워를 제공합니다. 
• FLATMOUNT BRAKE CALIPERS: Flat mount disc-brake calliper는 더 가볍고 깔끔하고 랙과 머드가드를 위한 dropout내에 보다 많은 공간을 제공합니다. Dropout에 장착되기에 더 가볍고 보다 편안한 seat-stay 적용이 가능합니다. 전방에서는 포크에 직접 장착되기에 보다 깔끔한 외형을 가집니다.
• SWITCHLEVER: 전륜과 후륜에 SwitchLever Thru-Axles을 사용하는데 제거가 가능한 레버를 부착할 수 있는 고급 액슬 시스템입니다. 손쉽고 빠른 사용을 위해 레버를 전륜 액슬에 장착할 수도 있고 깔끔한 low-profile look을 위해 제거할 수도 있습니다.
• BOTTLE #3: Down-tube 밑면에 설치된 3번째 bottle cage mount는 추가적인 물통이나 공구통 장착이 가능하게 해줍니다. Fabric사의 'cageless' 물통과 공구통을 염두하고 개발되었지만 일반 물통과 공구통도 장착이 가능합니다. 이 3번째 bosses는 BB와 가깝게 위치하여 tyre clearance를 최대화하고 중력의 중심을 낮게 가져가도록 해줍니다.  
• THREADED BOTTOM BRACKETS: 메이슨의 Bokeh 3 frames에는 68mm BSA, threaded standard를 적용하였는데 더 나은 내구성과 BB 소음 방지가 가능하다고 판단해서이다. Threaded BB의 경우 표준 도구들로 보다 손쉽게 작업이 가능하며 보다 쉽게 대체할 수 있는 부품을 찾을 수 있습니다. 적절한 윤활유 도포로 threaded BB는 금속 BB shell과 이상적인 체결성을 가집니다. 
• ISO TESTING: 모든 메이슨 프레임세트는 강도와 피로도 테스트에서 ISO 기준에 충족합니다.

ESSENTAL DIMENSIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

• RANGEFINER FORK HEADSET TYPE: DEDA Low profile integrated headset 기본 제공되며 상단 지름 41.8Ø, 하단 지름 51.8Ø으로 taper head tube에 장착됩니다. The latest Bokeh 3 frameset features new top-tube mounting bosses, exclusive and replaceable fork dropouts, brazed eyelets and lower bottle cage positioning for more frame bag space. 650b x 55 [2.1”] or 700c x 45 wheel/tyre sizes are now easily accommodated with real side-knob and mud clearance. Both the shift cable and brake hose now run through our proprietary Ø56mm ‘ThruBB’ shell and out through the chain stays. 

The Bokeh is our multi-award winning, Italian crafted, custom tubed, premium Dedacciai aluminium framed 'AdventureSport' machines for fast ‘Continent Crushing’ rides and they can use either 650b x 55mm or 700c, with up to 45mm tyres. APPLIED TECHNOLOGY

DEDACCIAI TUBING:

Triple Butted, Hand Selected, custom shaped, 7000 series, Dedacciai Alu tubes and tig welded by hand with beautiful smooth weld beads without after sanding or finishing, so there is no thinning and weakening of the tubes at crucial areas. The frame is fully heat treated and stress relieved after welding.

DFORM DOWNTUBE:

Inheriting form from our award-winning Resolution frame, our signature 'DForm' downtube is shaped from Ø48mm triple-butted Dedacciai tubing. This advanced downtube contributes to the Bokeh's high levels of stiffness for a predictable and engaging ride.

RANGEFINDER•AS FORK:

We have developed and tooled for the entirely new ‘RangeFinder•AS’ fork which is custom-tuned for the Exposure and Bokeh3 models. Featuring pannier & ‘rando’ style rack mounts, triple ‘anything-cage’ style accessory mounts, Ø12mm Thru-axle, 160/180mm flat-mount, and huge 27.5 x 2.35” | 700C x 50mm (with a 62mm fender) tyre clearance. The carbon lay-up of this fork has been optimised for this frame’s usage. Additionally featuring sealed internal brake and dynamo light cable routing and our unique Mason 'F-Stop' axle system, with Mason developed SwitchLever axle and replaceable fork inserts.

TAPER HEAD TUBE: 

modern 1-1/8” - 1.5” taper head tubes with a large overall diameter for a useful weld area. The fully integrated headset with lightweight and a very low stack-height. Large 1.5” lower bearing, mated to a tapered carbon fork steerer, spreads the load and gives flex-free braking and instant response to steering input.

HOURGLASS STAYS:

We tried many shapes before settling on this one, the wall thickness tapers from top to base and the perfect ‘hourglass’ profile gives a sublime, smooth ride with the added spring of steel keeping things lively. We add a custom bend at the base to work with the disc-rotor and calliper.

6 X ACCESSORY MOUNTS: BOKEH3

The Bokeh is designed for long-distance bikepacking and gravel racing, so the frame and fork are fitted with plenty of bottle and accessory mounts. There are 2 x bottle/accessory mounts on the RangeFinder•AS fork, as well as traditional pannier rack mounts.Standard frame mount bosses: x2 down tube (top side); x2 down tube (underneath); x2 seat tube; x2 top tube for securing a top tube pack. All eyelet positions are optimised, meaning fluid carrying and bag space are maximised within the frame. The 4th accessory/tool-keg/fluid mount, is now mounted as low as possible under the down-tube, giving space for a larger bottle or bag, whilst still maintaining clearance for larger wheerls/tyres.

OPTIMISED SEAT TUBE SIZE:

Our smaller frames sizes, from 48 to 58cm use a 31.8mm seat tube and 27.2mm seatpost. Smaller lighter riders don't require large, stiff seatposts and the smaller diameter post and tube help dial out some road-buzz and add long distance comfort. The larger frame sizes - 60 and 62cm, use oversize 34.9mm seat tubes and 31.6mm seatposts. The larger diameter seat tube adds 'core-stability' to the larger frames and enhances power transfer for larger more powerful riders, with the larger 31.6mm post adding more support.

1X DRIVETRAIN:

'1x' is a multi-terrain performance drivetrain with maximum chain security thanks to the narrow-wide chainring and jockey wheels and 'clutched' rear-mech. The range of gears is equivalent to a 2x compact drivetrain, but with the elimination of doubled-up crossover gears. '1x' are lighter, quieter, and more secure.

BOATTAIL STAYS:

Unique to MASON. A custom bend giving disc-rotor and calliper clearance, helping to avoid chain-slap on the rough stuff and allowing a little compliance to help smooth the ride.

MULTIPORT:

Unique to MASON. Our frames use an adaptable, internal cable routing system. Developed by us to allow your Mason frame to be used with a combination of control systems and adapt and evolve with your requirements and riding styles. We are the first to bring this type of system to a performance steel frame. Interchangeable alloy parts allow five options:

INTERNAL ROUTING:

The cables, hoses and electronic shift control wires run through the frame tubes, guided by our Mason 'MultiPort' adaptable inserts. Interchangeable Internal routing keeps the control cabling away from road dirt and grime, helps avoid accidental damage, makes cleaning easy, de-clutters your bike and means you can adapt your bike easily to work with various shifting and braking methods.

THRUBB: 

'ThruBB' is unique to MASON. The large 50mmØ presents a large weld area to the base of the down tube and then steps down to the 68mm width threaded seats. This step-down provides plenty of space around the outside of the bottom-bracket bearings to allow the control cable and hose to pass through on the way to the chain stays and out to the brake and rear mech. IMPORTANT: This BB shell design requires the use of a bottom bracket with a 24mm or 30mm 'sleeved' axle like most Shimano or SRAM DUB, because the hose/cables run through the shell and under the axle. DO NOT use a bottom bracket type without a sleeve.

650B / 700C WHEELS:

The Bokeh is optimsed for large-volume treaded tyres, and is designed for 650B and 700C wheel sizes. Using the smaller 650B wheel means that you can fit a larger-volume treaded tyre, but with the same rolling radius as a 700C x 28mm wheel/tyre.

160/180 FLAT-MOUNT:

Our HotShoe [InSearchOf] and RangeFinder [SLR, Exposure, Bokeh3] forks, are amongst the first carbon forks to have Flat-Mount capability for 160 and 180mm rotors. This allows for controllable, dependable stopping power when riding loaded and in steep, rough conditions.

FLATMOUNT BRAKE CALIPERS:

Flat mount disc-brake callipers are lighter, neater, and open up more space within the dropout area for racks and ‘guards. The calliper is mounted to the dropout, allowing us to use a lighter, more comfortable seat-stay.  Up front, the calliper is mounted directly to the fork [via the brake manufacturers adaptor] and offers a cleaner and more minimalist appearance and also provides a compact packaging of the brake caliper.

SWITCHLEVER:

This model uses SwitchLever Thru-Axles front and rear. This high quality axle system features a removable lever to be used with both axles. Store the lever in the front axle for quick use or remove completely for extra security and a clean, low-profile look.

BOTTLE #3:

A third bottle cage mount at the base of the down-tube to allow for an additional bottle or tool keg to be fitted. Designed for low-mount Fabric 'cageless' bottles and kegs (but of course suitable for traditional bottles and cages too), the third bosses are positioned close to the BB to maximise tyre clearance and keep the centre of gravity low. 

THREADED BOTTOM BRACKETS:

We choose a more traditional 68mm, BSA, threaded standard for our AdventureSport frames because we believe it gives greater durability and creak-free reliability over many miles. The threaded BB is easier to service using standard tools and you are more likely to find a replacement when adventuring far from home. A properly lubricated, threaded BB is also an ideal interface with a metal BB shell.

ISO TESTING:

All our frames complete the intensive strength and fatigue testing to fully comply with ISO standards.

RANGEFINER FORK:

Headset type: Integrated, 41.8Ø upper, 51.8Ø lower, for taper head tube. Angular Contact Bearings. The head-tube internal seat angle is 45º. The lower crown race angle is 45º. Note: New 'CarbonRace' technology used with RangeFinder forks means that the use of the lower crown race supplied with headsets is not necessary. Lower bearing seats directly on carbon taper seat. DEDA Low profile integrated headset. Chris King upgrades available.

Stack-washer maximum: 40mm below stem is max. recommended for carbon steerer. Warranty is void above this dimension.

Dimensions: Crown height - 398mm. Offset - 50mm.

Mounting Bolt Torque: 4Nm.

Accessory Cages: Max load capacity 6kg per side. Follow manufacturers installation and loading instructions.

Pannier Racks: Max total load capacity of 20kg. Follow manufacturers installation and loading instructions.

Rando Racks: Max load capacity of 10kg. Follow manufacturers installation and loading instructions.

BRAKING:

Rotor Size: The RangeFinder fork is designed for 160 or 180mm rotor [using flat-mount adaptor]. 160mm is the maximum recommended diameter for the rear, 140mm minimum.

Calliper Type: These frames are designed for flat-mount calipers. It's possible to fit post-mount calipers front and rear with the use of a flat > post-mount adapter. NOTE: This frame is compatible with most modern disc-brake systems but may not be suitable for ALL brake callipers. Please check clearance before purchasing your braking system.

Bokeh Flat-Mount Mounting Bolt Lengths: FRONT - 15mm. REAR - SRAM: 22mm. Shimano: 28mm. Bolt lengths for mounting Flat-Mount brake calipers to our frames vary across the range, because of the different dropout designs and materials used.

WHEELS + AXLE SPACING: Ø12mm Thru-axle Front / Ø12mm Thru-axle rear. Front axle spacing: 100mm. Rear axle spacing: 142mm. Axle length/pitch: Bokeh: Front - 120mm/1.5P. Rear - 160mm/1.5P.

TYRES: The below are guides only. Fitted width may vary depending on manufacturer and rim width. Please check true dimensions of chosen components to be sure.
